RJA #10b: Argument

Precise claim:
The death penalty gives justice to those who have done wrong, but can violate their rights and hurt their loved ones which is unjust.

Reason 1
- The death penalty shows justice towards the loved ones who suffered from the wrong doings of those who are tried and sentenced to the death penalty.
Warrant- Those families who have been victimized by other family members murdered or raped have peace when they now that person who did it is dead or paying for they did.

Reason 2- The death penalty also shows justice towards society for the wrong doings of the one who was sentenced to the death penalty.
Warrant- Commit the crime do the time.

Reason 3- The death penalty can also be unjust because the one who was sentenced is not the only one who has to go through his death. That person may also have family members and friends and now they have unhappiness and have to suffer.
Warrant- It is not just one family or person that is suffering now it is two. If the person who was sentenced was sentenced for murder then two people will be dead instead of two and both families suffer from loss.

Reason 4- Our civil rights ensure us of no cruel or unusual punishment.
Warrant- Putting someone to death by electrocution hanging lethal injectin is inflicting cruel and unusual punishment. Who is anyone to say that lethal injection does not hurt there will never be any proof because the person who is injected can not tell you if they are dying.

The law saws that murder is murder but is that what the death penalty is, murder?
