RJA # 2B Research Topic
I decided to do my research project on the death penalty. I chose do to the death penalty because it is a very interesting but very controversial. The death penalty is subject that is hard to pick a side on which it should or should not be used. I am undecided on if the death penalty should be used. I thought that this topic would be a good decision because if I do more research on the topic then I can come to a conclusion if I can agree or disagree with the death penalty.
There are many things that I still know about the death penalty. The death penalty has been around for hundreds of years. There are many different ways to put someone to death when it comes to the death penalty. In the old days hanging used to be a way to put someone to death. Now they use lethal injection or the electric chair. Not every state has the death penalty in the United States. I know that it is very costly to use the death penalty. I know that there are many controversies on the death penalty like all convicted rapeist and murders should get death penalty. Another controversy is bargaining to keep the death penalty off of the table for in return information between the defense and prosecution teams.
There are many things that I do not know about the death penalty. How many people have died off of the death penalty? Why does it cost so much to use the death penalty and less to keep them alive in our prison systems? How many total states in the US have the death penalty? Which state in the US has the highest number of people who have been put to death? I want to learn how families react to their loved ones getting put to death. How does family members of the one who is on death row feel? Does the death penalty really have a purpose in our system? If it does how does it work better or worse then our prison system. What happens when someone makes a mistake but has already been put to death even know they were innocent? I want to learn how many countries use the death penalty as a form of punishment. I also want to learn what is their form of punishment for example if they use hanging or something else.

I am really interested in writing about criminal justice topics.
Criminal Justice
-School Shootings
The effects of them and how they can be prevented. Things schools should or could do that they do not do. What are most common in all school shootings. Signs of kids planning a crime. Bullies and how it leads to school shootings. Teachers saying something when seen, in writings pictures or other expressions. The effects of saying something and not saying something.
-Rape
Long term life effects of rape. The types of rape. How rape victims can sometimes get victimize after the rape with the process of justice. Rape victims who have over come their rape and how they did it. Rape victims who have not over come their rape and why.
-Child Abuse
Signs of child abuse. Why children are so scared during sections in child abuse and feel that it is their fault. Children abused by family members and non family members what are the effects of each, which one can be harder to recover from. Which cases of child abuse come out faster who are being abused by family or non family members.
-Murder
Types of murder and the effects on people. They types of murders (ex:serial killers) Murders of what they did and their outcomes. Reasons they try to justify their actions if any.
-Drugs and Alcohol
The effects of them on people, society. The damage they can do. How to become addicted and the process of getting help.
OTHER TOPICS
-Weight Problems Obesity/Bilemma/Anorexia
Effects of this problems. Ways to prevent. Why people become this way. How does society have and impact on these problems. (Models, Surrounding foods, Images and sayings in Magazines) They way men and women have these problems not just one or the other.
-Sharks
The way they live eat, attack. They types of sharks. Why people are afraid but still go in the water. Shark attack victims. Shark attacks every year when they are most common. Things to do to prevent shark attacks. (this one is kind of a short subject in a way)
